Sutton Poyntz is a wonderful picturesque 17th Century village with a famous millpond and small stream. This village is situated close to the famous holiday destination of Weymouth and is very near to Bowleaze Cove beach and Weymouth’s Blue Flag, award winning beach.

The pub is approximately 3 miles from Weymouth town centre and 4 miles from Dorchester, the county town of Dorset. Weymouth & Portland will host the sailing events for the 2012 Olympics which in turn will increase the population during the long term build up to and during the Games.

The Springhead has various important trading areas. A comfortable lounge area with an open fire, a bar area and less formal dining area for the restaurant and the restaurant itself. Including the bar area this allows for approximately 70 seats for diners. Also there are gardens with the children’s play area and the newly prepared area from which wedding receptions and other functions are operated.

This is a quality drinking and dining business and attracts custom not just from the local population but from far and wide. Although this business does not depend on the tourist trade there are three substantial holiday parks in the vicinity (Weymouth Bay, White Horse and Waterside).
